Email-to-SMS/SMS-to-Email Gateway

Modified on Fri, Sep 29, 2023 at 12:38 PM

Vopro offers the functionality to send and receive SMS or MMS messages through email. This

feature is only available with the Basic Plus and Team tiers which allows users to seamlessly

integrate their email communication with the Vopro platform.

Here are the steps to use the Email-to-SMS/SMS-to-Email feature:

• To send an SMS or MMS via email, compose a new email and enter the recipient's 10-

digit phone number followed by "@m-txt.com" in the recipient field. For example, if the

recipient's phone number is 2125551212, the email address would be "2125551212@m-

txt.com".

• When attaching media files via our email gateway, please be aware that there are no

restrictions imposed by the system. However, it is important to adhere to the MMS

(Multimedia Messaging Service) standards and guidelines to ensure compatibility with

carriers. This includes following the recommended format types and keeping file sizes

within the limit of 1MB or less. By following these guidelines, you can ensure that your

media files are successfully delivered without any issues related to size limitations

imposed by carriers.

• Use the "To" address field in the email to specify the SMS destinations. It's important to

note that the system does not support "Bcc" (Blind Carbon Copy) for this method.

• Replies to received emails will continue the conversation seamlessly over email and sync

within the Vopro web interface. This allows for easy back-and-forth communication

between email and SMS.

• If multiple authorized users share a message-enabled phone number, the originating

sender of the message will not receive a duplicate email. This ensures that messages are

properly routed and managed within the system.

• When replying to a message received via email, the "From" phone number is

automatically set to the inbound telephone number associated with the conversation. On

the other hand, when originating a new message, the "From" phone number is set to the

first telephone number assigned to the authorized user.

Options to suppress email signatures and unwanted text

To provide users with more control over the content of their messages, Vopro offers several

tag options to suppress unwanted text and append the authorized user's name at the end of the

message.

To use, place any one of these tags above the unwanted text. All text below any of these tags is

ignored:

• [dni]

• [pvt]

• ====

The [dni] (do not include), and [pvt] (private) tags are designed to be part of and placed above

your email signature.

Safelist email domains and IP addresses

It is recommended to have anyone using the SMS to Email gateway to safe list the below

domains and IP address to ensure proper email delivery.

• m-txt.com

• sms.m-txt.com

• 168.245.126.173
